Vacation Part V
We had so much fun at Lake Rudolph we considered staying there for the rest of our trip, but we came to our senses and knew we had to move on.
We finally made it to Benedictine College to see my sister, Auntie. When we arrived, she gave us the Grand Tour of the campus. The campus over looks the Missouri River and since the college is 150 years old, the buildings and the surrounding area have so much character. It was really beautiful! I didn't bring my camera along so I don't have any pictures. Sorry :( Bumbles asked Auntie if she could take us to see the library. Once we got there, she was sorely disappointed because they didn't have a kids section. All of us had a good laugh.
We didn't stay too long because Auntie had to finish packing her things. ( It was the last day of school.) It just so happened that our parents had started their road trip and their first stop was Benedictine college, to pick up Auntie. As we were leaving the campus, Mom and Dad passed right by us in their motor home. We were going to turn around to help pack Auntie's things, but we already had plans to meet someone for dinner.
We had dinner with an old high school friend of mine. We have kept in touch by occasional phone calls and letters, but we had not seen each other for about 7 years!! We had such a nice time catching up and letting our kids play. They live on a few acres, so I will call them the Farm family.
My kids had so much fun running around and exploring with the Farm kids. Bumbles came running up to me and excitedly said, "They live on a real farm!". Later, when we were eating dinner, Little Squirt saw the potbelly stove. He got all excited and said, " They are just like Ma and Pa from Little House on the Prairie!" I am sorry that I did not pull my camera out to take pictures. I guess we were having such a nice time we all forgot about it.
When we realized how late it was we said our good-byes to the Farm family and stayed at a campsite not to far away. The following morning we took a walk around the campsite. There was a river that ran along the campground and we found some really big sea shells! Go figure!?

After our walk we started heading home.
